Book Study
Every Monday starting at 7:00 pm a group meets to study and discuss a book that is assigned or we watch videos or listen to teachings. This class is a wonderful opportunity to learn the joys of mindfulness and discuss it with others. All who come learn and all who come teach. It truly is open to all people, although there will be Buddhist teachings, many principals can be taken and incorporated in all walks of life, all religions, all faiths. This is really about being mindful and learning how to enjoy every single moment of our life, even moments that are difficult. In order to do this we need a sangha, a group of people that we can talk to and who will remind us to stay present. What a beautiful experience being a part of a group!
Two books that we refer to often and are constantly studying are below. These are written by our teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh and although they include many Buddhist terms, they are very useful concepts for all.
